Dark Shell offers an alternate history in which the occupying forces this occupied Japan after World War II failed to establish lasting power, and in the resulting chaos, many factions emerged claiming to rule the country, leading to unheard-of bloody civil strife.

A small company of soldiers from one of the warring parties, having fought off the main forces and wandering throughout this a deserted devastated area, comes across several teen refugee dolls and takes em under their protection. It is clear that the military is not driven by humanism at all, but by the almost any carnal motives. In the flames of war, all the common moral foundations have collapsed, and formerly the eyes of youthful Moe, the youngest of the refugees, disgustingly ugly episodes are played out. Women are trying at all costs to protect a girl who has already experienced violence in the past from soldiers who have lost their human appearance, which is why her mind is somewhat clouded.
