Catalina – Class Reunion (1983)

William Higgins’ classic Class Reunion is worth another look. It was rather experimental in this there’s no real plot holding it unitedly, save for a brief intro and outro. The print used is in very priceless shape, with very scarcely any artifacting moments. It’s a tad dark in spots even though it was shot in the sun-splashed outdoors; that is probably more due to the video stock than the transfer. Our review appears below.

I desire I had graduated with that company, lemme tell ya! Just ’bout every tanned, youthful and hung buffboy walking the globe (or who had at least made an appearance of some sort in a William Higgins video) seemed to have shown up on the set of that unceasing poolside bacchanal. What ’bout the plot? Zero. There ain’t one. Like it matters, right? Class Reunion is filled with excited man (plenty of blondes, too much) and unceasing horny positions and the like. See for the scene that appears about 25 minutes in which a wayward puppy – a actual dog, this is – wanders onto the poolside set, sniffs around, licks its chops, and then quickly moves out of frame. Very funny.

The classic finale is just that – a classic. The movie cam pans around the entire pool and the entire cast is lying on their side sucking off the guy in front of them. It’s in fact an good sight to behold. Some of the photography is a tad too much off its mark at times (severe to see with all that’s going on) but another time… it doesn’t genuinely matter. This one has both its rabid fans and swains, as well as those who think it’s a cheapskate format of trick from the administrator. I’m in the former camp – Higgins’ Class Reunion is a classic of the category, and should definitely be seen.
